FISH & LAKE INFORMATION:
 FISH:
Walleye season opens in mid-May. It’s usually on Mother’s Day weekend. Walleye action starts strong and can continue that way into mid-July. August walleye fishing can be very aggravating to some anglers, but with some patience and the right approach, fish can be found. The action usually ramps up again during mid-September and stays hot through mid-to-late October.
Bass season starts on Memorial Day weekend in the Twin Cities area. Bass fishing starts out strong, but peaks in mid-June when the water warms. Feeding habits shift a bit after that, but the bite stays strong through the fall. Many Twin Cities lakes hold bass and walleye on the same structure during the summer and fall.
Northern Pike season also starts on, or near, Mother’s Day weekend – like walleye. Fishing can be good all year round. However, the strongest bite starts during the warmer days of July and continues through the fall turnover. Large Northern Pike are rare, but the best time to target them is in September and October. Average size fish are caught consistently from opener until late fall.
